Tiverton Police Logs: Woman Receives New Charges, Father and Son Caught in Pot Deal
The following arrests were supplied by the Tiverton Police Department. They do not indicate a conviction.

A Tiverton woman for allegedly threatening her family members and spitting on police officers received new charges last week of vandalism and larceny at her ex-boyfriend's house.
Barbara J. Botelho, 40, of 29 Last St., Tiverton, was arrested by at 10:02 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 112 Evans Avenue. She was charged with domestic vandalism and domestic larceny under $500.
According to Lt. Patrick Jones, police were called to the Evans Avenue house that night to meet with a 43-year-old Tiverton man who claimed Botelho was staying with him. The man told police they were in a dating relationship but had broken up a day prior to Wednesday's incident. Jones said officers saw broken glass on the front porch to the man's residence. He told police it was a result of Botelho allegedly becoming upset and grabbing a walkway light from the ground and throwing it against his front door, causing it to break in pieces. The man also told police Botelho allegedly entered his vehicle and remove an unopened six-pack of beers and "helped herself."

Father and son caught in pot deal
Edward J. Mello, 61, and Jonathan H. Mello, 32, both of 124 Hayden Ave., Tiverton, were arrested at 9:54 a.m. and 9:33 a.m., respectively, on Thursday, Nov. 3 outside the on Main Road. Both were charged with possession of marijuana (first offense).

Jones said a detective was sitting in an unmarked vehicle in the parking lot where he saw a grey-colored SUV improperly parked in the parking lot. Then, the detective saw a green car pull up alongside the SUV, Jones said. The detective saw the older male, later identified as Edward Mello get out of the green car and walk to the driver's window of the SUV to talk to the driver, later identified as Jonathan Mello.
Jones said the older male allegedly walked to the rear of the car, reaching into a black bag in the truck, pulled out a clear baggie with a green substance and brought it to the driver in the SUV. Then, the older male walked to the post office.
Jones said the detective pulled up to the SUV and asked the driver about the baggie, and the younger Mello reportedly reached between his legs, pulled out the baggie with the green substance and said it was his pot that he left in his father's car.
The son was arrested, and then the detective charged the father with possession when he exited the post office.
Simple assault
Jenifer M. Pelletier, 23, of 580 East Road, Tiverton, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 594 East Road. She was charged with domestic simple assault and battery.
Jones said police received a call from a friend of Pelletier's who said she was being harassed by her husband. When police responded to the East Road residence and spoke to both parties, they learned there was an altercation. The husband told police he was going to "throw the dog" outside, and Ms. Pelletier allegedly grabbed her husband's hair, forcing his head back. Due to visible red marks, it was also reported the husband's neck and cheek were allegedly grabbed by Pelletier.
Arrest warrant leads to Methodone pill discovery
William F. Andrade, 40, of 74 Hope Worth Ave., Bristol, was arrested at 9:18 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4 at 88 Kenyon Road. Andrade taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant from the and possession of Methodone pills.
Jones said Tiverton Police were contacted by Bristol about Andrade's arrest warrant relating to a domestic incident that took place in their town. When Andrade was arrested in Tiverton and returned to police booking to be processed, they found 17 Methodone pills in his possession.
