Tiverton Police: Stabbing Threat at Middle School, DUI and Drug Arrests

The following arrests were supplied by the Tiverton Police Department. They do not indicate a conviction.

charged a 12-year-old girl with disorderly conduct earlier this month when she allegedly threatened to stab another classmate in school.

The girl, of Tiverton, was arrested at 1:20 p.m., Friday, Jan. 6. at . She was charged with disorderly conduct.

Lt. Patrick Jones said police responded to the school that day for a report of a 12-year-old girl who threatened to stab another classmate.

"There was no direct threat," Jones said. "The young lady did not have a weapon, but based on the threat she was removed from school."

The girl was brought to the police station and referred to the juvenile hearing officer.

Amphetamine possession

Todd Davis, 21, of 27 Durfee Road, Tiverton, was arrested at 10:03 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12. He was charged with possession of amphetamine and operating a motor vehicle while in possession of controlled substances.

Jones said a car operated by Davis passed an officer on a radar post and the officer noticed the operator was driving with an expired license. A traffic stop was conducted, and Jones said the officer noticed several prescription bottles in the glove box with ripped off labels. During a subsequent search, the officer found Davis in possession of three amphetamine pills without a prescription.

DUI

Eileen Santos, 46, of 136 Somerset St., New Bedford, MA, was arrested at 10:20 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12. Santos was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, refusal to submit a chemical test, operating a motor vehicle where the license has been suspended or revoked, refusal to submit a preliminary breath test and operating a motor vehicle with a cancelled registration.

Jones said the driver, Santos, was observed by police driving on Route 24 in the area of Fish Road committing "several" roadway violations and not staying in her lane. Upon being stopped, the responding officer noted several signs of alcohol intoxication. He said Santos submitted a field sobriety test, which she failed, and was taken back to the station. There, she reportedlt refused to take a chemical test.

Pot possession

  • Amanda Coyne, 30, of 2000 Bay St., Apt. 169, Fall River, MA, was arrested at 7:09 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 7. She was charged with possession of marijuana, operating a motor vehicle while in possession of controlled substances, having a headlight out and having a brake light out. Jones said an officer saw a vehicle traveling on Souza Road with a headlight and brake light out and stopped it. Upon approaching the vehicle, Jones said the officer could detect a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. A subsequent search revealed several marijuana cigarettes in the drive's side door, and a later search showed a small quantity of marijuana in Coyne's purse.
  • Bryan Goldenbloome, 24, of 80 Captains Circle, Tiverton, was arrested at 11:12 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11 on Main Road in the parking lot of . He was charged with possession of marijuana, operating a motor vehicle in possession of controlled substances and using multiple beam lamps.

Scuffle at high school

A 17-year-old man, of Tiverton, was arrested at 9:09 a.m., Friday, Jan. 13 at . He was charged with disorderly conduct. Jones said officers responded to the high school for a call of a fight, where the 17-year-old reportedly pushed another student. He was escorted to the main office when the police were called. The student was taken into custody, turned over to his parents an the matter was referred to the juvenile hearing officer.
