Tiverton Woman Arrested Third Time, Violates Probation

arrested a local woman last week for the third time in less than one month on alleged assault and battery charges. She is currently being held at the Adult Correctional Institution (ACI) in Cranston as a parole violator.
Barbara Botelho, 40, of 36 Last St., Tiverton, was arrested at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 112 Evans Ave. She was charged with domestic simple assault and battery. She is being held as a probation violator and will be presented in front of a judge in in Newport.
Lt. Patrick Jones said police received a call from Botelho's boyfriend that day, claiming his girlfriend, Botelho, was intoxicated and causing a domestic disturbance. Jones said the boyfriend alleged he was on the phone speaking to Botelho's mother, when Botelho grabbed the phone and threw it against a window. She also reportedly threw the phone at the boyfriend, striking him in the back of the head.

Botelho on two counts of simple assault and battery, one count of domestic simple assault and battery, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. She was on charges of domestic vandalism and domestic larceny under $500.
