Tiverton Woman Charged With Domestic Assault and Cocaine Possession

charged a Tiverton woman with domestic assault and cocaine possession after she allegedly bit a man in the chest during an argument.

Natasha Moreira, 25, of Tiverton, was arrested at 4:10 a.m., Thursday, May 24, at a Lake Road residence. She was charged with domestic simple assault and battery, possession of cocaine and possession of a knife with a blade longer than three inches.

Lt. Patrick Jones said police responded to the residence this morning for a report of a domestic assault, and spoke to a man who described his alleged assailant, Moreira, as an "on again, off again" girlfriend. In speaking to the victim, the man said he got into argument with Moreira, where she allegedly bit him in the left breast area of the chest. Jones said officers verified the bite mark.

Moriera reportedly left the scene right before police arrived, but Jones said they quickly pulled over a vehicle on Crandall Road matching the description given by the victim. She was taken into custody.

During an inventory search, Jones said police found three plastic baggies and a folded $1 bill, containing a substance that tested positive for cocaine. Police also reportedly found a knife with a blade longer than three inches.
