Tiverton Youth Baseball Team Advances to Autumn League World Series
The championship game is Saturday morning. Coach Ron Potvin reported on the team's progress.
A team of players from Tiverton Little League made it to the World Series of the Autumn Baseball League and will compete in the 10-year-old division finals against Taunton Independent. The series is best of three, beginning with a double header this Saturday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m., at the Fairhaven Little League Complex on Shaw Road in Fairhaven, MA.
The games are free admission. If needed, a third game will be played on Sunday.
After finishing the regular season with a record of 9-5, Tiverton advanced to the playoffs last weekend against number one seed Greater New Bedford Computer Guys. Despite adverse weather and hard fought games on their opponent’s home field, Tiverton used two complete-game pitching performances, clutch hitting and flawless defense to sweep the first round of the playoffs with a 6–1 win on Saturday and a 7–6 nail biter victory on Sunday.
