Two's Better Than One When It Comes to Voting Machines

Rhode Island's brand new voting machines balked when the voters fed two-sheet ballots.

TIVERTON, RI – Rhode Island's brand new voting machines suffered a few hiccups during voting
today. Several news sources reported problems with machines in Middletown, and on Providence's East Side. Early this afternoon, Joe Fasio, of Tiverton, was unhappy as he left the polling place at Tiverton High. He tried to input his ballot, and the machine wouldn't accept it. A poll worker told him to toss his ballot on a heap of other rejected ballots.

"It isn't right," he complained and told the Patch he worried when his vote would be recorded.

A few minutes later, he was told the poll workers had stopped the line of voters, while they input the problem ballots, and the machines were working again.
