Weekend Rollover Sends Tiverton Man to Hospital

The accident occurred early on Sunday morning.

A Tiverton man was sent to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries over the weekend after his vehicle hit a parked car on Stafford Road and rolled over.

Samuel J. Cornell, 22, of 1125 Stafford Road, Tiverton, was involved in an accident at 2:35 a.m., Sunday, April 15. He was transported to St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River.

According to , Cornell drove his 2005 white Dodge four-door heading south on Stafford Road and was turning onto Briggs Lane when it lost control. It struck a parked vehicle, a 2010 Toyota Camry, on the northbound side of the road facing west. Chief Thomas Blakey said the Dodge struck the front driver's side bumper, pushing the Camry about five feet back.

Cornell's Dodge reportedly overturned onto its roof where it came to its final resting place.

Blakey said there was no update on Monday and the accident remains under investigation.
