WARWICK, RI — The state recommended closing down the swim areas of two Warwick beaches.
The Rhode Island Department of Health recommended shutting down the swim areas of Oakland Beach and Conimicut Beach.
The department of health recommended the closures due to high bacteria counts.
"RIDOH will continue to monitor and review beach water quality through Labor Day," the department said. "The status of a beach may change as new data becomes available."
