Motorcycle Operator Seriously Injured In Warwick Collision With SUV: Cops

A Toyota Rav4 turned left in front of the motorcycle, police said.

WARWICK, RI — A motorcycle operator was seriously injured in a collision with an SUV Tuesday, police said.

The 31-year-old driver of a 2018 Toyota Rav4 turned left on to Jefferson Boulevard in front of a 2022 Ducati shortly before 5 p.m., the Warwick Police Department said in a media release.

"The motorcycle operator, a 66-year-old male struck the front of the SUV sustaining multiple injuries," the release said.

The injured motorcycle operator was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, where he was stable Tuesday night, according to the release.

"He was not wearing a helmet," the release said.

"The operator of the SUV remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with investigators," the release said. "The crash remains under investigation, however, neither speed nor alcohol appear to be contributing factors."
