Warwick Police Seeking 'Persons Of Interest' In Connection With Tech Center Break-In (patch.com) — Warwick police are asking for the public's help identifying two people connected to a break-in and vandalism at the Warwick Career and Technical Center. Investigators say the pair arrived on electric bikes from the Winman Middle School area and have visible arm tattoos, and they're urging anyone who recognizes them to contact a Warwick detective.
   

2. Starbucks closes 2 Rhode Island locations amid nationwide cuts (turnto10.com) — A Starbucks on Post Road in Warwick has shut down just over a year after opening, part of about 250 closures across North America. The move has surprised nearby residents, especially since another Starbucks and a busy Dunkin' remain close by, highlighting shifting competition and corporate cost-cutting in this busy stretch of town.
   

3. Man Faces Traffic Fight Assault Charge Oct. 5 (warwickpost.com) — A Warwick man is scheduled in court Oct. 5 after police say a traffic dispute near the Cumberland Farms on Post Road and Route 37 escalated into a struggle that left him badly bloodied and dragged about 25 feet. Officers found him on the sidewalk with multiple lacerations, while his wife described how a pickup allegedly tried to cut them off.
   

4. RIPTA deals with rising diesel prices that may fall on riders (turnto10.com) — Warwick bus riders could eventually feel the impact of rising diesel prices, as RIPTA faces about $2 million in new fuel costs after a fixed-price contract expired. Advocates urge the agency to find savings elsewhere, but a Providence commuter who rides daily to Warwick worries even a small fare hike would strain already tight budgets for low-income and elderly passengers.
