• Tarzan Brown statue lives on in Westerly (thewesterlysun.com) — A new bronze statue of Boston Marathon champion Ellison “Tarzan” Brown now stands in Rooney Park by the Westerly Amtrak Station, honoring the famed Narragansett runner born in town. Hundreds gathered Saturday for songs, speeches, and stories from family, tribal members, and running legends, celebrating Brown’s long-overdue recognition as a Westerly icon whose legacy will now be permanently visible downtown.
