11-Year-old Charged With Threat That Caused Closure Of Woonsocket School: Cops
Kevin K. Coleman Elementary School was closed Monday due to the Sunday night threat, police said.
WOONSOCKET, RI — An 11-year-old was charged with making an online threat that caused the closure of Kevin K. Coleman Elementary School, police said.
Classes were canceled Monday "out of an abundance of caution" after police "received a report of an online threat made toward Coleman Elementary School" Sunday evening, the Woonsocket Police Department said in a media release.
"Detectives conducted an investigation which led to the arrest of (the 11-year-old) as the source of this threat," according to the release.

"There are no active dangers to the school, students, or faculty at this time," the release said. "No further arrests are anticipated in this investigation."
