Providence Fugitive Wanted On Armed Robbery Charge In MA Apprehended: Cops
The Providence man faces additional charges in Rhode Island, police said.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man facing numerous charges in Rhode Island and Massachusetts was apprehended Wednesday, police said.
Angel Mercedes, 24, was arrested by the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force, the state police said in a media release.
Mercedes was arrested on a charges of eluding or reckless driving and obstruction and resisting legal or illegal arrest, the release said.

Mercedes was also a fugitive from justice in Massachusetts, where he faces a charge of armed robbery, according to the release.
In addition, Mercedes was arrested on numerous warrants charging him with failing to appear in court, the release said.

"Mr. Mercedes was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and transported to Sixth Division District Court for arraignment," the release said.
