The quickest way to get caught up with Kathleen on the most important things happening today in Woonsocket.

Happy Monday, Woonsocket! Here's everything you need to know about what's happening today in town. I'm Kathleen and looking forward to bringing you the local news
First, today's weather:
High: 54 Low: 29. Morning showers, but it will end in the afternoon! We'll start the day in the 50's but not for long so make sure you have warmer clothes for the afternoon.
Here are the top stories today in Woonsocket:
- A Woonsocket man was arrested on child sex crimes five times over the last 10 years or so. Finally, a judge sentenced 47-year-old Jason D. Boudreau to 19 years in prison on the latest charges. They found more than 677 child pornography images on Boudreau's cell phone. The images depicted adult males in sex acts with infants, toddlers, and little girls. Agents said he had another cell phone on him with 100 more images of child pornography. (ABC6)
- The Woonsocket Material Recycle Facility located at 943 River Street will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. It will re-open on Friday, November 26 from 7 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and Saturday, November 27 from 8 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Thursday's scheduled pickup will be Friday.

- Rhode Island has been awarded an $81.7 million federal grant for the state health department to build a new public health lab. The current facility, built almost 50 years ago, has insufficient laboratory space, inadequate building systems, and broken equipment. The state health laboratories work to investigate and mitigate life-threatening diseases, including COVID-19. COVID-19 revealed a serious gap in the health care infrastructure. This new federal funding will help Rhode Island bridge that gap and create a new state-of-the-art lab facility. The State health labs also work with state and municipal agencies to ensure the safety of drinking water and food, monitor water and air pollution, and help criminal investigations through police officer training, DNA testing, and drug identification. - Rotary Beer & Wine Tasting @ the Museum of Work and Culture is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov 30, from 6-8 pm. A variety of wine and craft beers will be offered. Tour the two levels of the Museum and snack on appetizers. There will be quite a variety of Silent Auction items; a great way to kick off your Christmas shopping! Parking is in the municipal lot at Market Square. (Facebook)
- Officers are searching for the person who shot and injured a man in Attleboro Friday night in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Washington Street. The suspect ran up to the man in the parking lot and fired several shots at him before running off towards the nearby UNO Pizzeria & Grill. It surprised me that a grocery store parking lot could be so dangerous. (WPRI)
