The School Committee confirmed the appointment of a new superintendent for the Woonsocket Public School system on Wednesday. Meet Dr. Giovanna M. Donoyon and get the story behind her 3-2 confirmation  

Up to 75 layoffs may be scheduled for workers at Landmark Medical Center and some residents have already been notified that they are on the list. The hospital released a statement on the decision Thursday which you can read about here.
