Masked Teen Carrying Gun Caught In Stolen Car: Cops

WOONSOCKET, RI — A masked teen carrying a gun was caught in a stolen car, police said.

A Flock camera notification alerted the law to a stolen vehicle in the area of South Main Street shortly after 6:30 p.m. Monday, the Woonsocket Police Department said in a media release.

Officers tracked down the vehicle and pulled it over, according to the release.

"The driver, a 16-year-old male, attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody," the release said.

"At the time of his arrest, the juvenile was wearing a full-face mask, a single glove on his right hand, and a crossbody satchel," according to the release. "A subsequent search of the satchel revealed a firearm inside."

The teen was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a firearm by a minor and obstruction, the release said.
