The loss of a great american, and why he was so important to all of us, and why we need more Steve Jobs.

I was attending a meeting on Wednesday night when I received a text message from my daughter telling me that Steve had passed. While it wasn't all that of a shock, having seen many stories and pictures regarding his declining health, I always held out hope that maybe, just maybe the Cancer could be stopped, and the inevitable delayed, but as we know now, that was not to be the case.
Since that time, I have read many articles, and viewed several videos of this man's remarkable and full life. If you are a reader here of this post, and follow the news like so many of us, you can truly thank Steven R. Jobs for his work, vision and dedication for making this remarkably complicated and complex we call technology safe to use by us mere mortals who consume the products that were his vision.
This goes for all of us, whether we be Apple Fans, or PC Purists. Jobs innovation and savvy has had an affect on all of us, one way or another.

Like great leaders - Ken Olsen for his Hardware acumen, and Bill Gates for his software expertise, Jobs role was very different. He knew how to take these tools and mold them into a great user experience. He was a genius.
But his reach was far more complex than a simple statement. He made the most of his 56 years as a resident of the planet.

One has to wonder, if Jobs had instead embraced public service, what would the outcome be? What if all of the leaders of today - on every level - Town, City, State and the Nation had the vision and drive of Jobs?
How would he have approached the problems that we face? How would he cut through the squabbling? (there was plenty of that at Apple, but he made his employees exceed his high expectations) How would he have handled the Nations' Education System? Immigration? The economy?
While we unfortunately will never have answers to these and hundreds of other questions, I believe now is the for all of our leaders to find their inner genius, and like Jobs did with Apple, turn this Country around.....
