Child Falls From Third Floor Porch: Woonsocket Police

WOONSOCKET, RI — A child fell from a third floor in Woonsocket on Wednesday afternoon, according to Woonsocket police. Det. Sgt. Matthew Ryan said the police department and the Woonsocket Fire Department responded to an address on Wood Avenue for report of a juvenile who fell from a floor porch.

"Upon arrival they found an eight-year-old boy who had fallen from the third floor porch due to a possible faulty railing," he said. The child suffered some type of head injury but was conscious and alert. Rescue workers took him to Hasbro Children's Hospital.The City of Woonsocket building Inspector was contacted and is on scene at this time. The case remains under investigation.
