Cancer survivors and their families are invited to join the 7th annual Cancer Survivors Day celebration on Sunday, June 3, at Landmark Medical Center, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The event is free and open to survivors, their friends, family and caregivers, as well as any interested oncologists. It provides an opportunity for visitors to talk to other survivors and families; for the survivors themselves to speak; and to hear from Landmark Medical Center's Dr. Ahmed Nadeem, chief of the Northern Rhode Island Hematology Oncology Program, as well as radiation oncologist Timothy Shafman and Oncology Nurse Manager Phyllis Kelliher.
People do not have to be patients of Landmark Medical Center to attend. The day features a lunch buffet, raffles and guest speakers - both Landmark staff and cancer survivors - and is one of the hospital's most popular events.
