Family Lands in Hospital After Garbage Truck Slams Chevy Suburban
Three children, ages 5, 3 and 1, went to Hasbro Children's Hospital. The two adults went to Rhode Island Hospital.

WOONSOCKET, RI — A three-car accident on Wednesday morning sent a family of five to local hospitals, Woonsocket Police said.
The crash happened at the intersection of Diamond Hill Road and St. Leon Street. The initial report indicated one car had rolled over, and two other cars were involved.

Officers arrived and found the five occupants of a Chevy Suburban outside of the vehicle. It had been struck and rolled over.

The two adults were taken to Rhode Island Hospital, and rescue workers took the three children, ages 5, 3 and 1, to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
None of the injuries was life-threatening, police said.

The Woonsocket Police Traffic Division conducted the investigation and found that a pickup truck being driven by a 67-year-old man had failed to yield st the stop sign at St. Leon and Diamond Hill Road causing the Suburban to collide with the pickup truck.
A garbage disposal truck coming in the opposite direction on Diamond Hill then struck the Suburban causing it to roll over. The pickup truck driver was cited on scene.
