Two great fundraisers for Friday night dinner
Sure, you could take home fish and chips from Ye Olde English, but this week, why not do something even more New England and eat out for a great cause?
- Clam Cake and Chowder Dinner
Help support the Woonsocket music students at an all-you-can-eat clam cake and chowder dinner from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at . Red & White chowder will be served and take-out is available. The event costs $7 in advance or $8 at the door, and children 10 and under pay just $6.

- Italian Workingmen's Club Food Drive Fundraiser
If chowder is not your thing, head over to the at 6 p.m. on Friday for the Fourth Annual Food Drive. Live music by Wildtime will accompany beer and dynamite with proceeds going to Because He Lives Ministries and other city food pantries. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Club (advance purchase appreciated) and will also be available at the door. All funds stay in the City of Woonsocket.
"Iron Man" Burks Rocks Chan's

Guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Michael Burks will visit Chan's Friday night for performances at 8 and 10 p.m. This rocked-out blues artist from Milwaukee reportedly held his first guitar at two years old and has since produced four albums including 2003's I Smell Smoke, which was nominated for three Blues Music Awards. Ticket are $15 for the early show, $10 for the later show or $18 for both performances.Β
Cityside Welcomes SLAM!
Also on Friday, the female-fronted dance band SLAM! debuts at Cityside. This fun cover band has a song list including hits by Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Pink, and the Stray Cats. The show starts at 9 p.m.
Divas Takeover Stadium Theatre
On Saturday, catch the Legendary Divas of Drag at the Stadium Theatre. These renowned female impersonators have performed on Oprah Winfrey, Ellen, The Tonight Show and Saturday Night Live. Only balcony seats are left for this one night only performance, starting at 8 p.m.
