Grand Jury Indicts Woonsocket Man on Arson & Other Charges

Ousman Faye, 24, of Woonsocket, will face multiple charges, the state AG's office said.

WOONSOCKET, RI—A suspect in three arsons, four break-ins and several other offenses has been indicted by the Providence Grand Jury. According to the state Attorney General's office, Ousman Faye, 24, of Woonsocket, will face one count of first degree arson, two counts of fifth degree arson, four counts of breaking and entering, four counts of larceny over $1500, one count of attempted breaking and entering, one count of vandalism, and one count of tampering with a motor vehicle.

"It is alleged that on diverse dates between July 4, 2015 and July 10, 2015, Faye broke into the dwellings of four different individuals, and stole various items valuing over $1500 from each victim. In addition, Faye allegedly set fire to two of the dwellings that he entered illegally. It is further alleged that on or about July 8, 2015, Faye set fire to an occupied building located at 95B Bernice Avenue, Woonsocket. It is further alleged that on or about July 11, 2015, Faye attempted to break into another individual’s home by breaking a window. In addition, Faye allegedly tampered with a vehicle without the owner’s consent. The alleged incidents took place in the City of Woonsocket," the AG's office said.

The Woonsocket Police conducted the investigation. Faye is schedule to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on Feb. 1.
