MA Man Charged In Four Recent Woonsocket Armed Robberies

WOONSOCKET, RI — Woonsocket police have made an arrest in connection to a string of recent armed robberies. Police on Thursday said Patrick Dandeneau, 30, of Blackstone, MA, was charged with four counts of first-degree robbery for armed robberies at two gas stations and two markets in the past month.

Police said an investigation determined the same suspect was involved in a holdup at the Shell Gas Station on Social Street on Dec. 26 at about 8:30 p.m., a robbery at the T & D Market on Dulude Avenue on Dec. 30 at about 1 p.m., a robbery at the Gulf Express Gas Station on Park Avenue about three later, and then a holdup at the Seasons Corner Market and Gas Station on Diamond Hill Road at about 11 p.m. on Jan. 11.

Woonsocket police said the robberies were similar and the suspect was a white man, dressed in black, with a black hoodie, wearing a mask and gloves. Police said the suspect showed a handgun and demanded money in all four robberies. Police said the suspect drove a newer Toyota Camry that was silver or light tan.

Police in surrounding communities have reported similar robberies.

On Jan. 13, about 1 p.m., Woonsocket police heard a radio transmission of a robbery in progress in Uxbridge, MA. Officers saw a Toyota Camry matching the suspect's car's description enter Woonsocket from Blackstone.

Officers stopped the car and said they saw evidence linking Dandeneau to the Woonsocket robberies. Dandeneau was taken into custody and taken to police headquarters. He was arraigned in 6th District Court on Jan. 30 and remanded without bail pending a Jan. 30.
