ONE STREAK CONTINUES FOR CSP UNITED U10 GIRLS, BUT ANOTHER ONE ENDS
CSP United U10 Girls roll along in Maple Premiere League but had scoreless streak snapped.
ROCKLAND—The CSP United U10 Girls were on their way to securing another victory over another Maple Premiere League opponent. They were up 2-0 over Rockland when the unthinkable happened.
The local team allowed their first goal of the season.
Despite losing their scoreless streak at eight-plus games, the girls did not let the tally off a penalty kick break their winning streak. They added an insurance goal in the second half to post a 3-1 win over South Shore Select.

Goals by Katie Jakubiak and Mya Miller within the first 10 minutes of the game proved to be more than enough for the CSP United. In fact, both goals were scored within five minutes. Passes from Madelyn Dion and Halle Delmore set up Jakubiak in front for the goal. Shortly thereafter, Miller took the ball from outside the offensive zone and lofted a shot that found the back of the net.
The defense took over from that point, only allowing one shot for the entire game. Unfortunately, it would be a big one that would break up the goals-against streak that was well into its ninth game. A questionable tripping call on the CSP United defense gave South Shore Select a chance to cut the score in half. The kicker shot the ball past the outstretched dive of goal keeper Kaitlyn Berger for the goal and a 2-1 advantage.

Some teams might have folded under the weight of giving up a goal after not doing so after so many games. Not this one.
Instead of playing defensive-minded and protecting the lead, CSP United attacked instead. Sienna Morris, Ava Normadin, Alexandra Guerra, Delmore and Jakubiak fired multiple shots at the South Shore net minder. However, their shots either hit the post or went wide. That is, until early in the second half, when Dion scored on a free kick to restore the two-goal-lead.
CSP defense lead by Miller, Stasia Todd, and Liz Luca has once again a solid performance by not allowing South Shore Select to develop any type of game. CSP United controlled most of the game as they have done with each prior opponent.
