Police Log: City Woman Arrested for Obtaining Cable With Identity of 85-Year-Old

Hanora Lippitt resident arrested for identity fraud
Joann Alfuso, 57, of 1 Main St. was arrested at home on Thursday after Woonsocket Police received a call from Cox Communications reporting possible identity fraud. Upon investigating, officers found that Alfuso's criminal record included theft-related charges in New York, New Jersey, North Providence and Cumberland. Alfuso also had two restraining orders in New Jersey and a District Court warrant.
According to reports, Alfuso was obtaining cable with the identity of an incapacitated 85-year-old woman from New Jersey. When confronted by police, the suspect insisted that the woman had given up personal information to help her obtain cable, even after officers explained that a member of the victim's family had helped with the complaint.

Alfuso told police that one of her New Jersey restraining orders was filed because the victim "thought I was taking her papers or something." She was arrested and charged with felony identity fraud.

Tracey Susan Allaire, 41, of 64 Erie St. was arrested at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and driving without a license. According to reports by Off. Klocek, Off. Sosa had pulled over a vehicle operated by Allaire and radioed for assistance. Upon arrival, Klocek saw Allaire exit her vehicle, flailing at Sosa. The officer reportedly wrestled with the suspect for several minutes before getting her restrained. Even after she was cuffed, Allaire allegedly continued to fight, pushing and pulling against police grip and refusing to get into the cruiser.

HV A Jones, 23, of 16 Clovell St. Providence was arrested on Morin Heights Blvd. at 10:49 a.m. on Thursday for driving without a license and a warrant.
Brett Gaston, 21, of 263 Front St. Lincoln, and Sean Morse, 21, of 8 Ruth St. Cumberland were arrested around 2 a.m. Friday morning for disorderly conduct at on Cumberland Hill Rd.
