Police Log: Two Arrested During Sex Offender Compliance Check

The following arrest information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A birthday party gone wrong-

James Diel, 51, of 311 Logee St. and Angela Victoria Burgos, 25, of 485 Park Ave. were arrested this week during a sex offender compliance check for Clyde Ewing at 324 Willow St. According to reports, when officers approached the apartment building where Ewing is registered, they were greeted by several individuals sitting on the porch and a strong smell of marijuana. Diel allegedly told police he had just finished smoking the drug and showed them the remainder of his burnt marijuana cigarette.

Another member of the group, Burgos, reportedly appeared very nervous and when officers ran her name, they found a warrant for her arrest. Burgos then became emotional and started choking and crying, reports state. She then walked to the side of the porch and vomitted. As police went over to arrest the suspect, they noticed a baggy of heroin on the ground in the area where Burgos had just spit up.

Beside the spot where Diel had been sitting, officers located a tin, containing a golf ball-sized chunk of marijuana with a birthday card on top, signed "Clyde and Doris." Diel was arrested for possession of marijuana and Burgos was arrested for a warrant and posession of narcotics.

Boyfriend steals credit card after fight

James David Tomasso, 35, of 168 South Main St. was arrested at home this week for fraudulent use of a credit card and disorderly conduct. The 54-year-old female victim told police that Tomasso was her boyfriend, and that he had punched two holes in the wall and left their shared apartment after a fight. She later discovered that her bank card was missing and that $100 had been withdrawn from her account.

While the victim was speaking with police, she reportedly spotted Tomasso walking up the street carrying a large trash bag full of his belongings. When confronted, Tomasso admitted to taking the card but said he had only withdrawn $40. When police asked asked a second time how much money he had taken, the suspect replied $60.

Other police activity

Tarsheen Robinson, 21, of 63 Fountain St. was arrested at the Hamlet Avenue bridge for a warrant.

Samuel Mueller, 26, of 255 Bernon St. was arrested at 256 Bernon St. for a warrant.

Thomas McCooey, 25, of 25 Lorraine Ave., North Smithfield, was arrested at 450 Social St. for driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
