You know what I realized. A few people in this community are just toxic. Jim Cournoyer can open his mouth and ramble on and on every other Thursday at city-council meetings about everything negative, except he can’t even show face at Autumnfest? Heck, I saw Fagnant running around like a chicken every day...but nope, no Al Brien, no Cournoyer, no Leo. Kudos to John Ward though, I heard/saw he was at the beer tent and some events.
But where was Jalette and Brien for opening and closing ceremonies or just in general? Nowhere. They talk a big big talk but don’t, and can’t walk the walk. At least maybe that’s why Al wasn’t out and about.
People like THEM is what stagnates change and progress. Instead of joining the ‘team’ they want/have to be on the other side of the fence. Makes no sense. Anything that doesn’t affect them or their close circle directly is always a cause for criticism.

EXAMPLE: Full Day Kindergarten. Who in their right friggen mind would be in opposition to that and make such, I repeat, such a huge public outcry?! As it was clearly stated, there would be NO impact on the taxpayers and there is no impact on the taxpayers as promised. Now children are learning more (a necessity in this country) and parents are able to work more or accomplish more at home. The ONLY reason why we haven’t heard from the dozens of people that strongly opposed the idea is because everything must be working and running perfectly. A perfect example of how this administration simply can get things accomplished.
Also, I don’t think Jim Cournoyer lives in the neighborhood near the proposed blasting area for the new Water Treatment Plant. Ya, we all know you and Gendron etc all worked your butts off on this project but guess what, you aren’t in charge and you aren’t responsible for the well-being of every resident in Woonsocket. We all know Al Brien brokered the sale of property. We all know that the mayor has NO prerogative of choosing the location of the plant. We all know people are still sore losers from the election. We all know things in Woonsocket seem to be getting better. How so these criticizers may ask? Hmmm maybe more lighting in the city, way more public works and road repair projects, equipment being donated, a city with newly established Full Day Kindergarten, making efforts to combine police/fire dispatch to save hundreds of thousands of dollars...ya the list goes on and on and on....66%-33%.
