State Police Collar Eight Suspects in Operation Blue Tide
The arrests were part of stepped up patrols over the holiday weekend.

CRANSTON, RI — State police arrested eight drivers, suspected of driving while intoxicated.
They are:
Victor M. Sotelo, 36, of Providence, was charged with • Driving Under the Influence – 1st Offense (BAC Unknown) • Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test • Disorderly Conduct;

James J. Martin, 32, of Woonsocket, was charged with • Driving Under the Influence - 1st Offense (Blood Results Pending) • Driving Without a License • Superior Court Warrant;
Ryan D. Rooney, 30, of Johnston, was charged with • Driving Under the Influence – 1st Offense (.148/.162);

Brittney L. Pereira, 22, of Pawtucket, was charged with • Driving Under the Influence – 1st Offense (.135/.145);
Michael O. Quarles, 30, of Central Falls, was charged with • Driving Under the Influence – 1st Offense (BAC Unknown) • Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test;
Joel A. Medina, 31, of Providence, was charged with • Driving Under the Influence – 1st Offense (BAC Unknown) • Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test • Reckless Driving;
Michael F. Mahoney, 40, of Dorchester, Mass., was charged with • Driving Under the Influence - 1st Offense (Blood Results Pending) • Driving with a Suspended License;
Stephen P. Chatowsky, 46, of Hopkinton, was charged with • Driving Under the Influence – 2nd Offense • Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.
In total, Troopers effected 62 arrests, investigated 61 accidents and issued 694 summonses during the holiday weekend.
