Suspect Arrested In Two Business Break-Ins
K-9 Aspen tracked the suspect into the woods, police said.
WOONSOCKET, RI — Shawn Smith, 49, of Woonsocket was charged with two counts of Breaking and Entering on Sunday. He is suspected of breaking into two Diamond Hill Road businesses, Empire Buffet and Crown Chicken.
Several officers were involved in the investigation and arrest, including Patrolman Jason Berthelette and K-9 Aspen. Aspen and the handler were able to follow a track that led to Smith's location in a nearby wooded area, police said. Also located was evidence to implicate Smith in both crimes, police allege.
