What's Hiding In This Woonsocket Apartment? A Fugitive
Police said they arrested a man wanted in Louisiana for second-degree murder and other charges.

WOONSOCKET, RI — Police arrested a man in a Woonsocket apartment who was wanted in connection with an armed robbery that ended with a victim being shot in the head. James Santos, 37, of Shreveport, LA, was arrested Friday morning and charged with attempted second-degree murder, armed robbery, and second-degree kidnapping, State Police said. He was charged as fugitive from justice.
Santos allegedly was wanted by the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office for an incident in Shreveport on July 20. He allegedly was one of two masked and armed men who duct taped a victim to rob him. When the man escaped, Santos allegedly gave chase and fired five shots, one of which struck the victim in the head but did not penetrate the skull.
The arrest was the result of an investigation by the Violent Fugitive Task Force, United States Marshals Service, Woonsocket Police Department and the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office. Santons waived extradition and will be held without bail pending his return to Louisiana.
