Woonsocket to D.C. Run Starts Tuesday Morning from the Police Station

WOONSOCKET, RI — Twelve Woonsocket police department members will take turns walking (or running) all the way to Washington, D.C. The event, dubbed COPSWALK, raises money and awareness for the families of fallen police officers. Each member of the team will clock four miles and then pass the baton to the next runner or walker.

Well-wishers can see them off at 9 Tuesday morning during a kick-off ceremony at the Woonsocket Police Department. Everyone's invited, the police department said.
