Woonsocket Man Charged after Tuesday Drug Raid

Police said they seized heroin, cocaine and cash from a 35-year-old city man who is now being held without bail.

Woonsocket police arrested a 35-year-old city man after they raided his Cottage Street apartment Tuesday and seized 83 grams of heroin and 50 grams of cocaine.

Alberto Villal-Pimental is facing felony charges of possession with intent to deliver both heroin and cocaine in addition to charges of distributing a controlled substance in a school zone and maintaining a common narcotics nuisance.

Police said they worked with police departments in Braintree, Mass., and other agencies.

Villal-Pimental is one of several people charged in the multi-state investigation, police said.

Along with the drugs, police seized $1,400 cash.

Villal-Pimental was arraigned in Sixth Division District Court on Wednesday and was ordered held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions.

He is due to return to court on Sept. 30 for a bail hearing and on Nov. 25 for a prearrangement disposition conference.
