Woonsocket Man Charged with Fraud & Passing Funny Money
Desmond Grey, age 23, of Woonoscket, was wanted in connection with investigations in the North Smithfield and Woonsocket police departments.
WOONSOCKET, RI—On Jan. 6 at 3:30 a.m., Desmond Grey, 23, of Woonsocket, was taken into custody on an Affidavit Arrest Warrant out of the North Smithfield Police Department for Fraud and an Affidavit Arrest Warrant out of the Woonsocket Police Department for Passing Counterfeit Money and Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses.
The arrest was the result of troopers investigating a motor vehicle accident that took place on Route 95 North at Route 195 in Providence. The subject was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and turned over to the North Smithfield Police Department.
