Woonsocket Man Indicted On Child Molestation Charges

WOONSOCKET, RI — A Providence County Grand Jury indicted Woonsocket man on child molestation, assault and sex assault charges. The Attorney General's Office said Lenoir Tavares, 40, was indicted on Feb. 18 on two counts of first-degree child molestation, three counts of second-degree child molestation, two counts of second-degree assault and one count of assault.

He is accused of committing the acts in Woonsocket between March 2016 and September 2019. The Woonsocket Police Department conducted the investigation.
