Woonsocket Police Log: Mass. Man Arrested While Attempting To Cash Counterfeit Check

Man Identifies Brother/Suspect
A Woonsocket police officer was contacted by a Pawtucket police officer on April 4 informing him that they were looking for a Timothy Glassey, believed to be residing near Bennett Street in Woonsocket.  Glassey was wanted by Pawtucket police for alleged domestic disorderly conduct and harassing phone calls.  Around noon on April 5 the officer spotted a man that matched the Pawtucket police's description of Glassey on Bennett Street and began to question him. According to Woonsocket Police reports, the man said his name was Garret Garron.  He told the officer he had heard of Glassey and that Glassey was working at Sears at the moment.  While waiting for dispatch to confirm some of the information Garron was providing, a man pulled over and approached the officer.
The man, Joshua Cruickshank, told the officer he was the brother of the individual being questioned. Â The officer asked Cruickshank for his brother's name and Cruickshank reportedly replied "Timothy Glassey."Â Glassey was arrested for obstruction and transported to the Pawtucket Police Department.

Girl Fight
A 17-year-old girl was charged with simple assualt and battery for punching a 16-year-old girl in the face while she was walking home on Tuesday afternoon. Â The police report states the suspect was getting a ride home around 3:30 p.m. when she saw the 16-year-old girl walking home on East School Street. Â The suspect said the girl had been recently calling her names. Â The car pulled up next to the 16-year-old and the suspect got out of the vehicle and began punching the girl in the face. Â The 16-year-old suffered a small laceration to her lip and scratches on her neck.

Caught Counterfeiting
Officers were called to Abal Check Cashing on Social Street around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday in response to a call that two individuals were attempting to cash a fraudulent check. Â Upon arrival, one suspect had already left the store and one, Juan Susana, 49, of 105 Jackson Street, Lawrence, MA, had remained. Â Tina Janik, the finance clerk, informed police that the suspects were attempting to cash a $370 check and forward the money to the Dominican Republic. During the past week, according to Janik, the check cashing service received two checks from the same company that turned out to be fraudulent. Â
The manager, Karl Allaire, researched the company, Unicco Cleaning Service, and called them. Â They informed him the check was fraudulent and the transaction was stopped. Â Juan Susana, who attempted at first to use a fake I.D. with the name Hector Rodrigues, was arrested and charged with identity fraud, attempting to pass fraudulent checks, forgery and counterfeiting. Â The other suspect in the case, who used the name Roberto Olmedo on the previous two fraudulent checks, is still being sought by police.
Vicodin and Wine
Kimberly L. Mitchell, 30, of 90 Winter Street Bellingham, MA, was arrested for DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test after she was allegedly caught by a police officer attempting to escape the scene of a car accident around 6 p.m. on Wednesday.  A distressed woman flagged down a police officer after she was rear ended by Mitchell while turning onto Hemond Avenue from Park Avenue. According to reports, Mitchell attempted to flee but stopped when she spotted a police officer, who happened to be nearby.  When the officer interviewed Mitchell he could smell alcohol on her breath and she told him that she had had a glass of wine and some Vicodin.  She was then given a field sobriety test, which she failed.  Mitchell was brought back to the station where she reportedly refused a breathalyzer test.

Richard P. Aridano, 24, of 901 Cass Ave. Apt. 1, was arrested for driving with a suspended licenses and possession of marijuana, subsequent offense, on Wednesday.
Carlos R. DeOliveira, 31, of 94 Sisson St., Pawtucket, was arrested on a bench warrant and driving without a license on Tuesday.
