Woonsocket Police Log: Man Caught Selling Heroin From Auto Detailing Business

Man caught with 16 $20 bags of heroin

Elvin Rodriguez, 32, of 105 North Main St. was arrested at home for two felony charges of manufacturing/delivering narcotics and resisting arrest. The arrest was the result of a several month investigation which, according to reports, revealed that Rodriguez revealed was distributing heroin from his residence and from a garage he rented and used as an auto detailing business.

Officers reportedly approached Rodriguez while he was walking his pitbull near his home on North Main Street and the suspect ran off, making it to Bouvier Furniture before being restrained. Rodriguez allegedly threw a plastic bag towards a storm drain as he began to run and police later recovered $320 worth of heroin divided into 16 smaller bags and $80 in marijuana, divided into four bags. Officers executed a search warrant on Rodriguez's apartment and reportedly found an additional bag with $100 of marijuana, along with two digital scales and sandwich bags.

Grandmother calls to report child abuse

Chelsea McGill, 25, of 137 Arnold St. was arrested at home for two charges of felony second degree child abuse. Police went to the home and spoke with the a woman who indicated she was the grandmother of four children, ages one, three, four and twelve that had been left home alone. The four-year-old child had swollen red marks under her eye and on her shoulder and she allegedly told officers her mother had hit her with a belt.

McGill was called back to the residence and told officers she was aiming to hit the child's buttocks as punishment and accidentally hit her shoulder and face. Police calculated that it had been nearly nine hours since the described incident had occurred and the marks still appeared very swollen and fresh. The 12 year-old also told the police she was afraid of her mother because she hit the younger children and did drugs. McGill was arrested and DCYF was called and determined that McGill would not be allowed to be with the children without supervision.

Russell Roger Plante, 60, of 121 Blackstone St. was arrested at Boilermakers for violation of the liquor law relating to an underage person.

Nethnoy Dethsouvahn, 29, of 104 Second Ave. was arrested at Dollar Tree for a bench warrant, driving without a license and driving under the influence (first offense.)

Joshua Richard Lalumiere, 25, of 360 Paradis Ave. was arrested at home for domestic assault.

Dawn Lisa Beane, 39, of 127 Chester St. was arrested at home for a warrant, driving without a license and obstructing an officer. Beane allegedly gave the name Donna Couley (with a birth date of 9/12/68) when she was pulled over. The officer involved in the incident recognized a picture of the suspect that the department had on file and went to her home to arrest her.
