Woonsocket Police Citizens Academy Deadline Extended
Woonsocket police said there are a few spots left for this year's session with the new deadline to register set for Jan. 31.
WOONSOCKET, RI — Woonsocket police have extended the deadline to apply for the Citizens Police Academy. Police are offering a chance to learn more about the department and build relationships.
As part of the academy, attendees learn about methods of patrols, use of force, drug investigations, use of force, crime scene investigations, DUI investigations, the K-9 unit and more.
The course runs Thursday nights from Feb. 6 to March 6 at the Woonsocket Middle School from 6 to 9 p.m. Attendees must be 18 years old, live or work in Woonsocket and be of good character. There is no cost to attend, but those interested must register by Jan. 31.
