Woonsocket Shooting Suspect Caught in Bay State

Joshua Rojas has been at large since March 3. He was apprehended by the Massachusetts State Police Fugitive Task Force and the Holyoke P.D.

WOONSOCKET, RI—Joshua Rohas, suspect in a March 3 shooting on Foundry Street, has been apprehended in Massachusetts, Det. Sgt. Matthew Ryan confirmed. The Massachusetts State Police Fugitive Task Force and the Holyoke, Mass. police arrested him.

"We are just waiting on extradition," Det. Sgt. Ryan said. Two people were hurt in that shooting at 27 Foundry St. and were taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Shortly after the shooting, police said Rohas was wanted in connection with it. Then on March 8, police arrested a second suspect. Diego Garcia, 27, of Woonsocket, was charged with two counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon; Possession of a Firearm after being convicted in a Crime of Violence; Use of a Firearm while Committing a Crime of Violence; Firing in a Compact Area; and Disorderly Conduct.

Police expect to have additional details about the Rohas arrest later Thursday.
