Yard Waste Pickup Ends Week of June 15

If you miss the cutoff, you can still use the drop-off site in Blackstone, Mass.

If you’ve been putting off putting out your yard waste for pickup, now is the time to get the dirty deed done.

Yard waste collection ends this week, the week of June 15, on your normal collection day.

If you miss this week’s pickup, don’t fret. The drop-off site in Blackstone, Mass., will be open on Wednesdays and Saturdays for residents with yard waste stickers. That includes all residential properties in Woonsocket.

You can get a sticker for $25 from the Department of Public Works in City Hall Mon. to Fri. 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. You’ll need proper ID and your vehicle registration.

Woonsocket Mayor Baldelli Hunt said that she wanted to remind all residents that the Blackstone site, located off Canal Street, is still available, regardless if you have city collection services or not.

“Thus all residential properties may participate, so please take advantage of this benefit,” she said. “A $25 dollar sticker gets you access for a whole season. This should help out with your yard work.”

Residents are reminded that it is illegal to throw yard waste in the household waste collection carts.

Curbside yard waste collection will resume in October.
