• Charleston County Parks acquires nearly 94-acre land near Awendaw, future park planned (counton2.com) — A new Charleston County park is planned just south of Awendaw after the county purchased nearly 94 acres off Highway 17 North beside Francis Marion National Forest. The public will be invited into a master planning process, so Awendaw-area residents can help shape trails, recreation spaces, and conservation priorities for this future park.
