• Registration open for Beaufort County Walk for Water (yourislandnews.com) — Beaufort County residents can now sign up for the free 10th annual Walk for Water events in Port Royal on Sept. 19 and Bluffton on Oct. 3. Organizers hope about 1,000 walkers will help raise $100,000 for Water Mission’s clean water projects worldwide, with early registrants who donate or fundraise at least $25 receiving a T-shirt. 
• SLED charges former Beaufort County probation officer with misconduct in office (wtoc.com) — A former state probation officer has been arrested and jailed at the Beaufort County Detention Center on multiple misconduct in office charges tied to alleged inappropriate relationships with a parolee. SLED says the conduct spanned several periods between 2024 and 2025, and follows earlier charges the same officer faced in 2025.
• Sheriff's office seeks public's help to identify 3 suspects in Bluffton hotel fraud case (abcnews4.com) — Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to help identify three people suspected of using a stolen credit card to pay for a stay at the Holiday Inn Express on Bluffton Road. Anyone who recognizes the individuals can contact a named investigator or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers of Beaufort County.
