• Construction is happening along this Bluffton roadway. What's being built? (islandpacket.com) — A 200-unit luxury apartment complex, Crowne at Buck Island, is rising at Buck Island and Simmonsville roads, adding new housing, amenities, and over 400 parking spaces in Bluffton’s Buck Island-Simmonsville neighborhood. Construction should wrap by next summer, even as town leaders balance rapid growth with land purchases to limit further development nearby.
   

• ‘It needs to be preserved at all costs': Community saves Heyward House (wsav.com) — Bluffton residents successfully pushed to keep the historic Heyward House from being sold, convincing the Historic Bluffton Foundation to preserve it as a community space. The foundation, which faces high upkeep costs, now relies on local donations and volunteers to maintain the 1840s-era landmark that survived the 1863 burning of Bluffton and represents key chapters of American history.
