Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:
- The Charleston Friends of the Library is hosting a back-to-school book sale from Aug. 11 through Aug. 13. The sale is featuring paperbacks starting at $1 and $4 for hardbacks. The sales will occur at Johns Island Branch Library on Maybank Highway. The Thursday, Aug. 11 sale is exclusive for members. (Holy City Sinner)
- The Charleston Police Department has arrested Noah Sibley, 29, for assaulting and kidnapping his girlfriend. He has been charged with second-degree assault, second-degree battery, and kidnapping. The incident occurred at Jasper Apartment on Broad Street after 11:00 p.m. He is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- Charleston County is asking for community feedback on its Savannah Highway Intersection and Capacity Improvement Project. The project intends to improve safety while improving traffic operations.
