Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:

  1. Charleston nurse Zakihia Moultrie will be launching a new organization called Black Women in Medicine on Aug. 27. The new organization's purpose is to support the next generation while creating a safe community for Charleston women in the healthcare profession. The organization will be launched at a brunch at 11:00 a.m. and will feature a panel of nine speakers. (ABC NEWS 4)
  2. The South Carolina Department of Revenue has seen an increase in applications from Charleston vendors. The area's vendors took a huge hit during the COVID-19 pandemic. The department reports an increase of 85 vendors this year — a dramatic increase from 55 last year. Click this link for more information about the vendor process. (ABC NEWS 4)
  3. The Charleston Metro Chamber Of Commerce will be hosting the South Carolina Manufacturing Summit on Oct. 21. The event will be held at the Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Each appointment at the summit will last 15 minutes and be implemented in a speed-dating style.
