The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Charleston.

Hi all! It's me, Nicole Fallon-Peek, your host of the Charleston Daily — here to impart everything you need to know about what's happening in town these days.
First, today's weather:
A couple of heavy thunderstorms. High: 85 Low: 73.
Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:
- There are more than 50 derelict boats in Charleston waterways that need to be removed. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Wounded Nature Working Veterans, and the Charleston Police Department have already removed about 250 boats. The abandoned vessels contribute large amounts of fiberglass, lead, oil, fuel, and plastic debris in the area. The groups are asking the state to provide funding to prevent the abandonment of vessels in Charleston waterways. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- Multiple agencies scoured the Charleston area on Wednesday night to search for a missing child. The incident started with a reported kidnapping in Hanahan. The subsequent police pursuit ended in downtown Charleston. The Hanahan Police Department reports that the missing child has been successfully located. (Count on 2 News)
- The Charleston Police Department is investigating a shooting in West Ashley that occurred on Wednesday. The two shooting victims suffered non-life threatening injuries during the Nottingham Drive incident. The motive of the shooting has not been determined yet. (Live 5 News WCSC)
