🌱 Former Chief Of Staff Sues District + Fatal 4-Vehicle Crash

Good morning, hello! I'm back with your new edition of the Charleston Daily. Let's get this Thursday started off right, with a quick dive into everything you need to know about what's happening these days in town.
First, today's weather:
Cloudy, a thunderstorm; humid. High: 86 Low: 74.
Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:
- A new development proposal in downtown Charleston is causing parking concerns. The proposal is for a hotel and a residential building behind the middle section of King Street that would eliminate surface parking off of George St. There is a new parking structure included in the proposal, however. The Charleston Board of Architectural Review will be considering the proposal. (WCBD News 2)
- The former Charleston County School District chief of staff is reportedly suing the district. Erica Taylor was terminated at the beginning of August as a part of Superintendent Don Kennedy's restructuring plan. According to the lawsuit, "restructuring" is not in Taylor's contract as a possible reason for termination. (Charleston Post Courier)
- A tragic four-vehicle crash has resulted in the deaths of two individuals in Charleston. The incident occurred on Calhoun Street near Courtenay Drive around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Charleston Police Department responded to the incident after several people called about a crash involving a motorcycle and three other vehicles. The identities of the deceased individuals have not yet been determined. (Charleston Post Courier)
