Harleston Village - Charleston
Steeped in proud American history, Harleston Village is home to some of the most amazing houses in Charleston.

Harleston Village stretches out over 50 blocks of downtown Charleston, skirted by Calhoun Street to the north, Broad Street to the south, and King Street to the east.
Steeped in the proud history of America, the land which the village now occupies was once home to tidal creeks and in the late 1700’s the waterways were used to power Charleston’s cotton and rice mills. As the city grew, the stunning natural beauty of the area attracted wealthy Charlestonians who replaced the creeks with magnificent mansions and elegant homes. The very first American golf club was built here in 1786, as well.
For nature lovers, there are several of the city’s most admired parks to explore. In the late 1890’s, picturesque Colonial Lake was formed from a tidal pool. Today it is a favorite place for a leisurely stroll or a quick run. Sports enthusiasts enjoy Moultrie Park which offers a basketball court, sports field, lighted tennis courts, and a playground. Colonial Lake is a favorite place for walkers and runners.
