Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:
- Charleston residents are being offered the chance to win tickets to see Michael Bublé in concert. The Grammy-winning musician is bringing his talent to North Charleston on Aug. 14. News 2 is giving away two free tickets. Entries will be accepted beginning on Jun. 28. Stay tuned. (WCBD News 2)
- Charleston County Parks has a new Executive Director. Kevin Bowie will assume the executive director position after serving as the associate executive director of the department since 2016. Bowie has been with the department for over 35 years. He is reportedly focused on working with existing staff while improving the quality of life for Charleston residents. (Charleston Regional Business)
- A North Charleston church is offering HIV screenings once again. The Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in North Charleston had been hosting the HIV testing events since 2000, until the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first HIV testing event will be held on Jun. 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church. There will also be educational materials for participants. (Charleston Post Courier)
