(Patch Media)

Hi all. I'm back in your inbox this morning with your new edition of the Charleston Daily, fresh off the presses. Here are all the most important things to know about what's happening locally.

First, today's weather:

Humid; a stray p.m. t-storm. High: 88 Low: 78.

📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Charleston who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Charleston Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:

  1. A petition to save a North Charleston running track has gained traction. So far, 800 people have signed the petition to save the Danny Jones Athletic Facility track. New improvements at the facility will likely eliminate the track due to an increasing building footprint. A walking and biking trail will surround the site, but the concerned runners report that the trail is not enough. (Live 5 News WCSC)
  2. A Charleston County School Board member has blown the whistle on a possible state law violation by the district's superintendent and board chair. The accusation was made during the board's meeting on Monday. According to Cindy Boan Coats, the Freedom of Information Act laws were violated when the meeting's agenda was changed. (Live 5 News WCSC)
  3. Parents are demanding that the Charleston County School District install bulletproof doors in district schools. The doors would be made in North Charleston by R2P Innovations. The doors would be a proactive measure to ensure student safety. The parents are claiming that it is not a matter of if a school shooting will happen in Charleston, but when. (ABC NEWS 4)
