Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:
- Charleston County School District has parted ways with its chief of staff. The district notified the community about Erica Taylor's dismissal on Tuesday. Superintendent Donald Kennedy is reportedly reorganizing the district to ensure that students will be at their grade reading level by fifth grade in 2027. (WCBD News 2)
- North Charleston's Ghost Kitchen Commissary now boasts 45 different tenants. The location is used by food trucks, pop-ups, and meal delivery services to prepare food. The location has 10 cooking stations equipped with various commercial kitchen tools such as burners, ovens, and grills. (Charleston Post Courier)
- The Charleston Police Department is currently investigating an incident involving an individual firing a gun out of a vehicle. The department received multiple calls on Sunday about an individual shooting in the Brownswood Road area. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch Center. (Live 5 News WCSC)

- The South Carolina Department of Transportation will be hosting a public information meeting on Thursday, Aug. 4 at Bethel United Methodist Church.
